Meal Prep Day
Join us at NBC on Saturday, JUNE 13 starting at 10:00am.
We will be making meals that will be used throughout the summer. Everyone is welcome! Please bring your own lunch.
This day really helps out our summer kitchen staff, so that when the blueberries arrive we can get straight to making all the camp favourites like fresh wild blueberry pies, crumbles, and pancakes.
A Poem by Marion Donaldson
Desiderata
And how do I get there? My goal is in view: I want love and fulfillment, Security too, But I do need a handbook, Or roadmap and guide, For I see others failing In what they have tried. And what is for real? No shadow will do. I want things that are lasting And solid and true. But I see simulations, Synthetics and fakes, And some have been tricked Into costly mistakes. And what's it about? My desire is clear: A meaningful purpose For my being here. But I hear that our planet Is soon to be scrapped And others feel scared, Disillusioned and trapped. Then a triple response to my question I heard; Christ whispered to me His revealing Word: "I'm the Way - follow Me To a much higher goal. To be loved you must love With God's love in your soul. Fulfillment? Not getting But sharing God's gift, And secure you will stand Giving others a lift." "I'm the Truth - learn of Me. I see things as they are And created each atom, Charted paths for each star. Things you touch, you can't own But just borrow and use them. My treasures endure And you never can lose them." "I'm the Life - grow in Me. You need never fear death. I have plans for the earth. You don't end with your breath. A new Life I purchased By dying for you - Fulfilling, enriching - My present to you."
This poem captures the reason for Northland Bible Camp. To spread the Good News of Jesus and the life we can have in Him.
Camp involves lining a lot of ducks up in a row. At the beginning of every season, it can seem like an almost insurmountable amount of work to get things rolling again. Cleaning and preparations, organizing volunteers, building projects, problems to solve, and the list goes on. But, year after year, our God continues to bless this work and those who come. We are so grateful for His provision and for the many people who pray, serve, and support this ministry.

Love that poem. Marion's prose was always next level.
